The average annual rent increase in December was 172.9 percent across the country. While Antalya was the province with the highest rate of rent increase (292.2 percent), it was noteworthy that the average rent prices doubled in one year.
The big cities where the annual rent increase is experienced are respectively; Trabzon (218.2 percent), Denizli (212.5 percent), Mersin (207.7 percent) and Adana (181.3 percent). The provinces with the lowest price increases were Diyarbakır (100.0 percent), Kahramanmaraş (108.3 percent), Gaziantep (111.1 percent), and Van (119.8 percent).
Compared to the previous month, the number of rental housing advertisements is 0.4 percent across the country (from 215,260 to 214,436), 2.6 percent in Ankara (from 17,565 to 17,117), and 3.6 percent in Izmir (from 15,974 to 15,391). While ‘e) decreased, it increased by 2.2 percent (from 68,408 to 69,913) in Istanbul. While the ratio of the number of rented houses to the number of rental advertisements increased in Ankara, it decreased in Istanbul and Izmir. While this rate decreased by 1.5 points in Istanbul and İzmir in December, it increased by 1.8 points in Ankara. According to the latest data, the ratio of the number of rented houses to the number of rental advertisements was 16.8 percent in Istanbul, 17.8 percent in Ankara and 15.9 percent in Izmir.
