This was stated by Turkish political scientist Okay Deprem at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
“Of course, [SPIEF] only has a positive effect [on relations between Russia and Turkey]. As far as I know, every year the number of participants from Turkey increases. We see very well that year after year the mutually beneficial partnership and strategic relations between Russia and Turkey are being strengthened. This forum, like other platforms of its kind, is a unique opportunity for Turkish entrepreneurs, businessmen, journalists, politicians and public figures,” said Desprem.
He noted that Turkey, along with Iran and Egypt, were honorary guests of the forum last year.
“Türkiye is one of the main countries that Russia focuses on. I think that SPIEF this year will be very successful, interesting and multilateral in order to develop partnerships between countries,” the expert concluded.
